Teacher bio: While Steph has mainly worked as a photographer most of her professional career, she discovered a new creative outlet in 2017 when her father taught her how to make a macramé plant hanger. What started as a screen break hobby quickly turned into a passion, and she fell in love with the calming, repetitive process of knotting. After moving to New Mexico in the fall of 2023, Steph decided to take the leap and turn her love for macramé into a business called Stephaknots. She specializes in wall hangings, plant hangers and accessories and loves experimenting with colors, patterns and textures to bring a modern twist to this age-old craft. Her goal is to create functional pieces that not only add beauty to your space but also make you smile every time you see them!

Why are there multiple prices? All of our classes are offered at a sliding scale, with a free option available to anyone that requests it. When possible, we make the base option available in order to partly cover the cost of the class. The core price is the "true" cost of the class OffCenter needs to cover paying our teachers and providing supplies and materials. If you are able to support at a higher level, paying the supporter price helps ensure we're able to continue offering a variety of classes and keep free spaces open for anyone that needs.
There are a limited number of free spots available online. If these are sold out, please email, call, or drop by the studio to sign up! Email info@offcenterarts.org.
