Little House Auction!

OffCenter’s beloved fundraiser is BACK! We were thrilled to host the Little House Auction this May, once again at FUSION! In addition to being the most fun - this event is an important fundraiser for our organization. Be a part of it all — create a Little House for us to auction, save the date for the preview exhibit on May 3 and don’t miss the Little House Auction on Friday, May 10!

Artists can pick up Little House blanks from OffCenter during any open hours in March! Stop by Tuesdays & Saturdays between 10 am and 2 pm, or Wednesdays & Thursdays between 10 am and 6 pm to sign up and get your house!

*Read the Artist Info Sheet here!

*Want to create a house without using one of the wood blanks? Awesome! Just fill out the online form here so we save a spot for your house!

*Once you’re finished with your little house, DO NOT bring it to the studio. All artists are asked to drop off Little Houses at FUSION on Monday, April 29 between 11 am and 3 pm.

Questions? Send them our way: email Mika@OffCenterArts.org

Thank you for making the 2023 Little House Auction a wonderful success!

This year EVERY SINGLE HOUSE at the auction was bid on and purchased! Thank you to ALL of our artists and everyone that came and bid at the auction for making this happen!

Little Houses were created by artists as young as 7 and artists that have been making art work professionally for decades! For some of you, this exhibit was the first time you publicly shared your work - and your work held it's own alongside the work of international and nationally exhibiting artists! This is the same magic that we see everyday at OffCenter. Open Studio and OffCenter classes and programs are for EVERYONE! Whoever you are and wherever you are in your creative journey -- we have room for you to come and create with us at OffCenter.

$8,899 is enough to cover our rent for more than four months! It's enough to pay our administrative costs for nearly the whole year! Or to cover payroll for one month! Every bid and donation -- whether you purchased a single raffle ticket or bid hundreds of dollars -- adds up to have a huge impact!

The funds raised by this event go toward OffCenter's operating costs: the overhead it takes to keep the doors open, the lights on, the staff paid, and Open Studio running smoothly! These are monthly costs that need monthly support.

If you've come by recently to make art or say hi, you've probably noticed our Open Studio hours are busy!! We regularly reach capacity and would love to be able to expand our hours. But we need more monthly donors at every level to support that.

Adding a recurring donation of $10, $25, or $100 a month can be an easy way to support OffCenter and have a BIG impact on our work! OffCenter is here for everyone. A monthly gift can be your way to expand access to art making and social interaction for everyone!

The beauty of OffCenter's tagline Make Art, Buy Art, Meet New Friends was in full effect for the Little House event this year! You all MADE so many beautiful, fun, and fanciful Little Houses to share with us; you came out and BOUGHT every single one of those houses (!!!!) and there were new friends made & familiar friends reconnected with. It was a wonderful evening and we're so grateful to all of you for making it happen.

THANK YOU to the many volunteers that helped on the Little House committee, lent a hand during check in, set up, or during the auction! You sold raffle tickets, solved problems, and kept the fun in this fundraiser! So much gratitude to Little House committee chair Sally Bergen; volunteers Jeanne DeCosta, Scott Sandlin, Claire Lissance, Kiber Selig, Chamizal MacPherson, Christine West, Karen Nunez, and the entire OffCenter board! (Special thanks to board member Phil Hughes-Luing for his time and care in the Little House hospital tending to our most fragile Little Houses!)

Special thanks to Ron Breen and Terry Bluhm who donated and cut all the Little House wood blanks for us! Your generosity is amazing!

We couldn't have done it without the fantastic team at FUSION who hung the exhibit and supported the event at every step!

Thanks to Lapis Room gallery and their generous artists for sharing their work for the exhibit. It's also not too late to purchase a painting from the exhibit and support OffCenter! Through May 31, 20% of proceeds of the paintings that were featured at the Little House exhibit will go directly to OffCenter! Stop by Lapis Room or contact them directly for information.

And of course: the Little House Artists! There's no auction without the generous gift of the art you each created and shared with us to auction!!! Your time, energy, and creativity is what makes this event so special.

THANK YOU!!!
