Collagraph Printing - February
Collagraphy is a printmaking process where artists use a variety of recycled and inexpensive materials to create editioned prints. Materials may include mat board, glue, textured materials, carborundum (grit), and acrylic media. In two 3-hour sessions, class participants will learn how to create and print their collagraph plates (matrix). The first session will consist of demonstrations, learning the various ways to ink demo collagraph plates, and creating 2 or 3 printing matrices to use the following week. The second session will be devoted to printing. The goal is to make an edition large enough to have prints for personal use as well as to sell in the OffCenter gallery.
No printing experience necessary. All materials provided. Ages 18 and up.
